Wedding Favor Advises

January 18th, 2012
I was reading this article about wedding favors and stumbled on this one. I would like to share it also with you. Here are the wedding favor advises that would not end up in the trash can.
  • Set up a candy buffet where guests get to sample their favorite sweets. Bonus: Put the candy in apothecary jars. The jars can double as decor or centerpieces.
  • Give guests a local treat like candy from Just Born, Josh Early or M&M’s, or kiffles from the Kiffle Kitchen.
  • Before the wedding, ask relatives to share their favorite cookie recipe. Whip them up and set up a serve-yourself cookie bar. Make signs sharing where the recipe came from and make copies of the recipe available.
  • Getting married around the holidays? Gift your guests a Moravian Star Christmas tree ornament from the Moravian Book Shop or make your own ornaments.
  • For a crowd that loves their libations, a mini-bottle of wine or a brew from Weyerbacher orFegley’s Brew Works is a welcome addition. Or make your own Limoncello. Throw in some Jones Sodas for the little ones and nondrinkers.
  • Rent a photo booth or have a do-it-yourself photo book with a Mac computer. Bring in props and chalkboards for guests to ham it up and take home a photo strip.
  • If you love to cook, share your favorite recipe and create a basket with some of the key ingredients. Or jars of rosemary salt or small bottles of olive oil.
  • Whip up your own jam or preserves in mason jars.
  • Fill a mason jar with the dry ingredients for your favorite cookies and attach the recipes. When guests get home, they can just dump out the jar, add the wet ingredients and pop them in the oven.
  • Depending on your crowd, a koozie could be a big hit. Or a flop. Know your guests.
  • Want to skip favors but honor a loved one who’s died or recovered from an illness? Make a donation to a charity. If you want to keep your guests involved, select several charities. At the reception, set up bowls with the names of each charity. Give guests chips to drop into the charity of their choice. Try to pick a charity that won’t offend any of your guests; most people can get behind cancer research but a pro-life or pro-choice organization might rub some the wrong way.
  • Set up a late-night snack for guests as the evening winds down such as doughnuts and milk or pizza.
  • A cigar-rolling bar for the men, pashminas for the ladies and a basket of flip flops so guests can hit the dance floor in comfort.

Become a Top Wedding Planner

January 10th, 2012

Do you want to be a top wedding planner this 2012? I have researched and read through articles and blogs and got these 4 goals that you should achieve. Wedding planner is important in when planning a wedding to ensure that every details will be taken care of. Couples who are planning to be weds are hiring wedding planner because they will be very busy and there will be no one to take care of the wedding favors, wedding invitations, the venue, and etc,. In order to have a smooth wedding event, people hires wedding planner to take care of it.

Here are 4 steps for selecting and accomplishing your first goals:

1) Start with the goals that excite you the most

If you start with goals that you feel you “have to do” or, worse, someone else wants you to accomplish, you will procrastinate and not get anything done. But when you start with something that excites you and makes a big difference in your life, you will quickly reach your goals.

2) Write them down, in detail with due dates

I’m frequently surprised by the number of wedding planners who keep their goals in their heads. Writing them down will help you clarify what you want and putting goals onto paper can make you feel more committed to getting them accomplished.

3) Schedule your tasks

Determine the tasks you need to perform to get your goals accomplished and schedule them on your calendar. Since you are starting with two to three goals, your list of tasks should not be overwhelming and your calendar should not be overbooked before you even start each day, which can happen if you are trying to do too much at one time.

4) Review your accomplishments

At the end of each day, review what you have done towards your goals and adjust your schedule for the next day, if necessary.

When you focus all of your attention on just a few goals at a time, you are able to have more clarity about them and will find them easier to accomplish in a shorter period of time.

10 wedding planning to-dos that can be delayed

January 6th, 2012

I was just browsing when I read this article — “10 wedding planning to-dos that can be delayed” — and their top 10 to-dos is what most the wedding planner do. If you are on a tight budget and can’t hire a wedding planner, this might help you.

1. To-Do That Can Wait: Choosing Your Bridesmaids

Of course they were some of the first people you called after the proposal, but hold on before asking all your besties to be in your wedding party.

Drama has a habit of popping up in the early stages of engagements, so wait for the initial “Oh my god — you’re-engaged!” phase to die down before asking your girls to be bridesmaids.

A few weeks after your engagement, you’ll have a better idea of who’s excited to dive into wedding planning with you and who might have a better time at your wedding as a guest.

2. To-Do That Can Wait: Buying Your Dress

Browse through magazines and online galleries to your heart’s content, but consider holding off before actually purchasing your wedding dress. After a few weeks of looking at blogs and trying on dresses, your taste might change in a surprising way (same goes for your accessories).

But don’t sit on the decision for too long — you don’t want to find yourself a month from the wedding date without a dress. We recommend buying your gown six to eight months before your wedding.

3. To-Do That Can Wait: Your Seating Chart

You’ll want to figure out a rough estimate of your guest list so you can plan things like your budget and reception venue, but don’t worry about deciding specific seating assignments yet. That can wait until after you’ve received your RSVPs and finalized your reception setup (venue, table sizes, etc.).

4. To-Do That Can Wait: Picking Your First-Dance Song

Your first-dance song — and all of your wedding music — is one of those details that you can tweak right up until your wedding day (especially if you’re hiring a DJ). So there’s no need to stress.

5. To-Do That Can Wait: Choosing the Bridesmaid Dresses

Your wedding party attire is one of the biggest, most impactful ways to carry out your overall wedding style. But, as with your wedding gown, it’s likely that your theme or colors will evolve during your planning process.

So save bridesmaid dress shopping for when you’ve decided on a final look and feel for your wedding (you don’t want to have your maids buy one color or style and then later change your mind!).

6. To-Do That Can Wait: Planning Your Honeymoon

More and more couples aren’t jetting off on their honeymoons right after their wedding day, so it’s okay if you need more time to plan carefully — even if that means waiting a few weeks after your wedding to go.

If you do want to leave for your honeymoon the day after your wedding, book your travel plans six to eight months in advance.

7. To-Do That Can Wait: Choosing Your Flowers

Book your florist early on (you’ll want to pin down the best person, one whose overall style matches yours), but you don’t actually have to specify what flowers you want until a few months — or even a few weeks — before your wedding.

So start setting aside photos of wedding flowers that you love (and have a conversation with your florist about which blooms will be available for your wedding date), but don’t worry about narrowing it all down just yet.

8. To-Do That Can Wait: All Those Little Details

Tiny details, like your linens, table settings and escort cards, don’t need to be dealt with until well after the bigger decisions, like your reception venue, are made.

If you’ve got the itch to plan right now, focus on the fun stuff, like tasting appointments with your caterer and cake baker or choosing your wedding colors.

9. To-Do That Can Wait: Buying Anything Edible

You might have already found the perfect chocolate wedding favors, but don’t buy them just yet. Plan to make the purchase of anything edible as close to your wedding date (no more than a month in advance) as possible to get the freshest goodies for your guests.

10. To-Do That Can Wait: The Legal Stuff

You should be getting manicures and showing off your ring — not getting paper cuts on your fingers from all the documents you’re filling out. Changing your name, combining bank accounts, updating tax forms . . .  that can all wait until after the wedding.

Personalized Wedding Favors – Final Touch

January 2nd, 2012

Personalized wedding favors can be the final touch that completes the look of an entire wedding. Revealing the favors to the guests can be a great way to tie up all the design elements used throughout the wedding, and they provide the guests with fond memories of the ceremony that they can evoke each time they take a look at the precious item. A beach wedding, for instance, can have starfish- or shell-shaped candles with an ocean mist scent. A garden wedding can feature green spa products or toiletries wrapped in delicate environment-friendly packaging. A winter wonderland wedding can give out jars of snowflake-shaped soaps, or even snow globes. Have fun and go wild when choosing the favors for your wedding – it’s nice to let out a delighted giggle when you come across beautiful and thoughtful personalized wedding favors.

Customized Wedding Favors

December 27th, 2011

Planning for the day you say ‘I do’ can be a very time consuming task. You will probably have many things on your to-do list. Most couples want the celebration to be a unique reflection of their love. To make your special day a memorable one, consider ordering customized wedding favors.

For a traditional flare, provide your guests with simple things like candies or matchbooks. You can print a simple message or your initials and the date. It is easy to have these items custom ordered and there are many options available.

You can also customized it on your own if you are not that busy and if you really want to add a personal touch on your favors. If your guest would know that you participated personally in making your wedding favors, they would appreciate and treasure it because they know that you exerted effort on it. They might even put in a box just to keep it the way it is to be.

If you don’t have time, you don’t have to worry that much because you can just give your ideas, to where you order your wedding favors, and they will make it come true for you.

How To Plan Baby Shower Decorations To Supplement Your Theme

December 16th, 2011

You’ll find a lot of advantages in using baby shower invitations. Baby shower invitations varies from the theme of every parties being held. Many parents decide to use invitations while using intentions of sharing their joy with family and friends and having gifts in return.

Among the best techniques to save money when organizing an event is to purchase a cheap baby shower favors. Child shower favors (just like wedding favors) are a “Thank you for coming” item or memento that you just give to every single guest for coming for the party. They don’t must be costly or elaborate; just a little some thing sweet and thoughtful will be perfect.

Baby shower invitations present a good chance for celebrating the marvel of childbirth in the company of your well wishers and friends while the mother and child are around. Look at baby shower invitation as a means of  gathering friends and family for a grand party. All you require is to send them out early ample.

You can also opt for homemade baby shower favors is you are really saving. It is also good to giveaway personally made favors because it is more sincere. Homemade baby shower favors should cost you less than getting pre-made at a retail retailer. Nevertheless, there are a few people who do not mind investing much more as long as the favors look wonderful and impressive. You’ll be able to think about either edible treats, candles, toys, handkerchiefs, or scrapbooks as small gifts for your guests.

Kids Birthday Invitations Basics

December 15th, 2011

For the first few years, you do not even have to stress yourself out in choosing a theme. Your party has one theme, it is a Birthday Party and you can find many birthday party invitations that will celebrate without being too detailed. Customizing them with pictures and your own wording can make them even more special, too.

Here are the two things that I got from the article that you should keep in mind when planning for your kid’s birthday party.

Save The Date

Most people choose to have parties on the weekend and young children will not care if their part is not exactly on their birthday. Send out the kids birthday invitations as early as possible or check the date with those most special to you to make sure that it is a good day for most people. Then you will be ready to send out your kids birthday invitations to all of your guests so that they can save the date.

Choosing The Time

For younger children, you want to keep the party comparatively short. This can be done by limiting the food to just cake and ice cream. A happy child is one that has had a nap and is not overtired, so consider this when you are deciding what time to put on the kids birthday invitations. Keep nap times in mind to ensure that everyone has fun, including you.

While the first few birthday parties are actually for the parents, this does not mean that the baby will not enjoy them. It just means that you do not have to stress over the details quite as much, from the birthday party invitations to the decorations to the food.
